Ventilation is the essential component of the greenhouse microclimate maintenance system. Overheating, excessive humidity have an impact on reduction in yields no less than low temperatures or draughts. Therefore, the ventilation system is selected as early as the design stage, taking into consideration the greenhouse type, cultivated crop, climatic zone etc. For example, in extreme climatic conditions with excessive heat, we can consider an additional forced exhaust system of ventilation and a cooling system.
Majority of the greenhouses presuppose window ventilation system. The vents themselves are located in the roof, in chessboard order. Their total area reaches 25% of the total roof area. The window angle is up to 50 degrees.
The vents control system can be automated like other greenhouse systems.
